Hey Alex!

I met you this past weekend when you played at GW for the jam session. I sang "Crazy" and although it was my first time singing with a band, it was alot of fun, and you were so nice to me even though my chart was horrible!! I absolutely loved watching and listening to you play the piano, you are so talented. I didn't realize how young you are and that only makes your accomplishments more impressive! You definately inspired me because we are close in age. I am so glad I got to watch you play and listen to you talk about how you arranged "Just One of Those Things". I have been listening to alot of your music lately. I hope to see you play or talk with you again sometime in the future! Good luck with everything you do!

Alex, I wrote something on FB, but it seemed to have evaporated. Anyway, just wanted to say how much I liked the new CD. It was all wonderful, Lamentos reminds me of the Third Stream music of Rampal and Claude Bolling, only with a Latin flair. Good luck to you and your brother and the rest of your bandmates.

Hi Alex,
I met you at the William Penn hotel in Pittsburgh. I've purchased your new CD and really enjoyed everything about it. I also checked out the Alondra De La Parra CD. You are an incredible musician. Please let me know if you are performing in Pittsburgh in the future I would like to come see you.

I was at the MIM on Saturday evening, December 11th and was treated to a performance of a lifetime. I was looking forward to enjoying the talents of Paquito D'Rivera and was so pleasantly surprised to be privy to my first hearing of the talents of Alex Brown. What a thrill he and Paquito created for an audience that was entranced by the power of these two musicians. Their artistry was captivating. I will now be following the career of this exceptional pianist. Looking forward to more of the artistry AND selection of music that was presented at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.

Hi. Alex. This is Steve Silverman the old guy who was asking about your venues and got some Samba tips from Mark Walker after your gig in Gaithersburg, MD. Turns out I was one of the first students of Walter Salb, Allison Miller's teacher.I see that you are from my hood. I have family who grew up in Columbia, MD. I'm from Silver Spring. Intrigued by the story that might be behind "Montrose Towing". Anyway, just loved your playing and wish you all the best in your career. And Happy Birthday.

I've been hearing a lot lately about an up and coming, very talented young jazz pianist, who has been playing all over the world to great acclaim! Denver, CO is waiting for him to book here with baited breath -- but alas, no engagements on Alex Brown's calendar for Colorado!!

Come on out -- I miss you and the CO jazz scene needs you ;-)

Hope you are well Alex. Drop me a quick line when you can and tell me how you are doing. Spain, that's awesome. Such a short stay though. I hope you are holding up OK with all the traveling around the world.

Love,
Aunt Julie

November 21, 2007

Hi Alex,

Sorry about the extra submissions. Just talked your mom to see if you were in MD this week, but was informed you are in Mexico with Paquito. Please give him my regards.

Nice web site, and congrats on your progress and successes. Keep doin' it. Am looking forward to catching you live one day soon – maybe in NYC.

I was in Toronto this past summer and visited with David Virelles and some of the Cuban musicians friends. He laid his CD "Motion" on me. If you haven't heard it, I think you might really enjoy it.

Otherwise, things are good here – a few age-related problems – still teaching at RU/staying in Camden, DE,
touring occasionally solo and with others. Catch you later, Stanley
